How Garbage Is Recycled At The US’ Largest Recycling Facility

The Sims Municipal Recycling Facility in Brooklyn is the largest recycling facility in the country. In just one day, the facility sees about 800 tons of recyclable materials. That’s the equivalent of nearly 100 elephants. Because of the amount of materials the center is able to process, it’s helped remove more than 200,000 garbage trucks from NYC’s streets.
